Sweet potatoes in the oven
Ingredients per a 4 persones
500 g sweet potatoes • 3 dl full cream milk • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon • 2 tbsp sugar
1. Pre-heat oven to 180º C. Peel the sweet potatoes and cut in medium or thin slices.
2. Put the slices in a casserole, arrange in layers and sprinkle each layer with sugar and cinnamon.
3. Pour in the milk, place in oven and cook for 45 minutes.
The sweet potato (monyaco in Menorca) is widely used on the island, and it is prepared in salted and sweet dishes as fried dough or puddings. Islanders also prepare this recipe barbecued.
