Its 200 km of coastline are dotted with a myriad of beaches of all shapes and sizes, suitable for all tastes and for families with kids of all ages. If you like unspoilt beaches that are easy to reach on foot but offer no services other than their wonderful natural surroundings, head for Cala Mitjana on the south coast or Platja de Cavalleria in the north. If, however, you prefer more built-up beaches, with kids\u2019 playgrounds and a choice of restaurants, try spectacular Cala Galdana,\u00a0 Arenal d\u2019en Castell or Son Bou beach. Platja des Grau is the<\/u> beach for families in Menorca and lies right next to a large lagoon, S\u2019Albufera des Grau, in the heart of the island\u2019s only natural park. This is an excellent starting point for trips out for all ages, be it on foot or by kayak.<\/p>\n

Cala en Porter is an excellent place for a day out with the family. From the beach you can enjoy a pleasant walk along the Cam\u00ed dels Cavalls<\/a> to two fascinating Talayotic archaeological sites<\/a> that lie just a few kilometers away.<\/p>\n

The beach at Sant Tom\u00e0s has all kinds of services and a delightful promenade suitable for even the smallest kids. If you prefer more natural beaches, head for Platja de Binigaus, just a few minutes\u2019 walk along the Cam\u00ed de Cavalls. From there, cut inland for a 30-minutes\u2019 walk to the spectacular Cova des Coloms.<\/p>\n

This suggestion for enjoying Menorca with kids takes you away from the beaches and into the town of Es Mercadal and surrounding area. Discover a bit more about inland Menorca by climbing El Toro, the island\u2019s highest peak, and visiting one of the island\u2019s best preserved forests, which also harbors an enormous rocky outcrop shaped like an Indian\u2019s head!<\/p>\n

Every summer, GOB Menorca<\/strong> organizes a cycle of children’s activities at the Fauna Recovery Center, installed in the quarries of S’Hostal (Lithica) in Ciutadella. One day a week on summer afternoons, these workshops designed to entertain the whole family deal with topics such as the migratory journeys of birds and other animals, exotic species, the colors and shapes of birds, etc. During the summer, the Fauna Recovery Center can be visited from Monday to Saturday from 6:00 p.m. More information<\/a>.<\/p>\n
